The Dark Side of the Web -Internet Malware

Frankly, I bought my second computer because of the Trojans and worms which caused my first computer to crash. I kept the hard drive for a while, hoping that I can retrieve my files. Later on I purchased various anti-virus software, I truly disliked Norton. If anyone knows about a good anti-virus program that it's easy to control, and is not on all the time, please let me know.

Now I worry about the ethernet, being connected all the time. When I remeber, I actually turn off the switch at the computer. To be continued...

Me 2.0

As I was exploring Upcoming for fun things to do on New Year's Eve, I found Edgwater Branch listed with Jewelry Design Program. I find it a great marketing tool

I liked the www.instructables.com craft site, it will assist me in reaching a professional goal here at South Creek.
Tip: I just recycled my old cell phones, collecting dust in a box, also old old technology at cellforcash.com. I didn't get a single cent for it, that's how old they were. But you can get something back for other gadgets.

Ordering the pizza, and not paying for it? No way, besides it would ruin my new year resolution: stay way from fattening foods.

Library 2.0 Happy Holidays!

The technology gives a chance to our patrons to become our partners. Library 2.0 is a two-way street that enables both library and client to interact with each other, and improve communication through blogs, wikis, and text messaging... I don't think there is ever going to be looking back. Surprizingly so, most of our readers embrace and welcomes the Library 2.0 technology, since it is easy to use.

Web 2.0 Applications

My slow internet DSL connection at home is really frustrating but Web 2.0 applications are so very useful tools. I have been using both Rentometer and Zillow for awhile now. I am not sure if Rentometer is going to be free anymore. Also http://www.postlets.com is Real Estate Marketing for Web 2.0

The Realtor as we know him/her will have to re-invent and sharpen their skills, and have a web site of their own. I for sure will want someone who will these tools, besides the traditional and the very proprietary MLS listings.

Not awarded by SEOmoz but equally useful is http://www.livemocha.com/. The site offers online lessons for anyone who likes to learn a new language, with help from a native.

In regards to time management, my TV-watching friends are still going to prefer the couch and a good game or sitcom to interacting and volunteering, since all that requires work. Time to make new friends.

Library, DaVinci, and the Future

I certanly enjoyed reading the article "The Future of the Libraries". It's going to be exciting, and to this day patrons walk in the OCLS library and are surprized by how far and how much the library has changed. Also, the SuperLibrarian will be born. It's intriguing that the article and founder is an IBM engineer and designer.

Open source software

I can see the use of open source software. I can open it and use it anywhere, everywhere I need it, change it, improve it, and perfect it overtime. Yes, I can see the power of it. Also, it can be that it's constantly changing forcing one to keep up with it. A good thing. But wouldn't this software be slow to run? Is Google going to be the new platform? What about all the bugs and kinks?

Liveleak is better than Youtube, at least I find it so.

I searched my name in Google and came up with 5 results, nothing bad, nothing personal. I like to keep it private on the web. I am highly reluctant to join another sharing site plaxo.com

Moving on to OCLS 2.1 - Setp 2008

Back again. Cool. I hardly wait to our new lessons. I am not a big fan of running, I do own a pair of sport shoes. Nothing fancy. I did read in a magazine some interesting fact about pacemakers. You can change the tempo of your favorite workout song at TechoSweat.com for $1. "Upload your music, choose beats per minute...."

I did like the site:http://www.nutritiondata.com/ Checked the flan data and found out that is about 300 calories per serving.
