Digital Downloads

The End?

It has been a very good learning experience for me. I truly enjoy the learning process, OCLS 2.0, and the feedback.

It is sad but true, but at the moment I don't own an iPod or a portable MP3 player, so my experience with podcasting is limited. I do however do a fair amount of downloading to my computer, and creating an account with Netlibrary was a breeze.

I downloaded the radio version of an audio book since it was faster and it was on my computer. I do understand the very importance of the CD quality for the MP3 player, and I will try it in the future.
After this course, I will definitely use my MP3 player.

Thank you.

Digital Music and Copyright

As with photographs and digital images, digital music needs to be copyrighted.

I believe in the artist's right to protect their music and lyrics. Unfortunately, this is a losing battle for many talented artists whose work is pirated everday.
You can say that Internet is the great equalizer, and it seems that the majority is indeed enjoying the creativity and talent of a handfull of artists. But at no cost?
Media should pay per use rights, but not the way iTunes uses the DRM tool.

From exploring the music sites, my favorites are Liveplasma and www.mystrands.com ( because it gives you the option to listen to the song, before you buy it).

Sharing Information Week 8

I continue with my learning experience and did register for http://www.flickr.com account, search for OCLS and Bingo! there you are, down the list with a nice view of Lake Eola. That's all I want to reveal, just in case there are more people who need to complete the lesson. I liked very much the picture with the duckboat and the dog.

I used Creative Commons license on my photos, using the Attribution NonCommercial,
http://www.flickr.com/photos/blogetteinc/ I like Creative Commons, it is very useful.

About on-line learning: I love it! I like the process and I find it very easy. In my college days, it saved me a lot of traveling to the campus. If it's offered, I will pick the on-line class version versus the on-campus one.
I would have like to start as a team, but I didn't. However, I asked my team for help along the way, and I offered help as well.
I would like to see the OCLS 2.0 learning process continue, and perhaps have something new to share or learn once in a while. Just an idea!
